Hi, I’m Kirsty and basically I’m ‘The Crescent Veterinary Physiotherapy’. I have a postgraduate Diploma in Animal Physiotherapy, a Diploma in Equine Sports Massage as well as being trained in Acu-pressure and Kinesiology taping techniques.
Member of IAAT
I am a qualified and insured animal physiotherapist and equine sports massage therapist. I am based in the High Peak in Derbyshire and cover most of Derbyshire, Cheshire and Lancashire. I have a positive and kind approach to physiotherapy, ensuring that my treatments are tailored to your animal to gain maximum benefits. Any additional exercise plans that are written are aimed at achieving the best results but take into account what is achievable for you. I like to think that my treatments form a part of the overall goals, and that by working together we can put your horse or dog onto the right path to either complete their rehabilitation programme or improve their overall health and well being, whether it be as a companion or in competition environment.
I have a particular interest in racehorse retraining and I am passionate about giving ex-racehorses a future after racing. I’ve owned and competed thoroughbreds and this breed has most definitely stolen my heart. Over the years I’ve gained a lot of experience with thoroughbreds, and I’ve found that my style of treating is really effective with this intelligent and sensitive breed. I’m actively involved with The British Thoroughbred Retraining Centre and thoroughly support all the work that they do.
Becoming an animal physiotherapist has been a dream come true and I’m so passionate about my career and being involved in the welfare and well being of all animals. As a qualified animal physiotherapist, I’m actively involved in Continuous Professional Development, and by attending lectures, courses and seminars I’m always learning and adding tools to my kit. I really look forward to working with you and your animals and getting them fit, healthy and above all, happy.
One thing I would like all my clients to know, is that I’m always at the end of the phone, if you’re worried about something or need a little advice, then don’t hesitate to drop me a text, email or pick up the phone, I’m always here to help.
